Tulip Refurnish was founded to reduce waste, address the climate impact of furniture, and help people feel good in their homes. It was not founded to lecture, boycott, or create divisions between people.
Our work is rooted in an environmental challenge that affects everyone. For that reason, Tulip does not align itself with any political ideology beyond the shared need to care for the world in which we live. We are humble enough not to claim any moral qualifications or authority over ourselves, our partners and/or our customers. We are simply a group of humans selling sustainable furniture to other humans on planet earth.
Therefore, we welcome customers, partners, and employees regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, place of birth, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. No one should be excluded from interacting with Tulip because of who they are or where they come from.
People are entitled to their own views and convictions. Holding them should never prevent respectful interaction with others or access to our services. People are also entitled to act on their beliefs in their private lives.
Tulip does not tolerate hate, harassment, or discrimination in any form — including behaviour or language that targets individuals or groups based on personal characteristics. This applies across all interactions with Tulip, whether online, in person, or through partners.
To help keep Tulip a welcoming and neutral space, we discourage the display of flags, slogans, symbols, or other expressions that are likely to make others feel unwelcome, pressured, or singled out. This is not about restricting beliefs, but about ensuring that shared spaces remain comfortable and inclusive for everyone. This, of course, applies only to our workspaces.
Tulip does not conduct background checks on customers or partners based on past statements, beliefs, or affiliations. Everyone is welcome, provided they engage with Tulip and others respectfully.
Our employees are expected to treat each other, our partners, and our customers with dignity and respect. We recognise that political, social, and cultural discussions can be meaningful and important. Open and respectful dialogue on any topic is welcome when all parties choose to engage and feel comfortable doing so. However, participation in such discussions is always voluntary. No one should feel pressured, coerced, or judged for choosing not to engage.
Tulip aims to be a place where people can work together, feel welcome, and interact with one another positively and respectfully – without fear of hostility, exclusion, or intimidation.
